1959 Eldo engine oil weight

I have rebuilt my engine, the caddy book says 10 weight to run it in and 10/30 weight thereafter can anyone clarify please

Use straight 30 weight oil for the first 500 miles, but add a container of Zinc (ZDDP) to protect the cam and lifters.

As far as what to use after that, then a 10W30 should do, but make sure you use one for older engines, as the newer ones don't have the ZDDP to offer internal protection.

Did you do a complete rebuild, or simply a Rings and Bearings job?
