500 motor > 429 motor distributor exchange?
« on: October 09, 2007, 10:13:20 AM »
Hi All,

Just wondering if the dizzy from the 472/500 motors fit in to the older 429 motor? Also, are the intake manifolds different too?
There seems to be a lot of aftermarket parts for the 472/500 motor  :(

Cheers,
Ross

G'day Ross,

As far as I am aware, the only thing that interchanges with the 429 and the 472/500's is the petrol that goes in the carby, the oil that goes in the sump, and the water that cools it.

The 429 is a totally different beast to the later 472/500.

Bruce.
