G'day Fellas and Sheillas,
Just completed fitting a Predator to my '72 Eldo, and as expected, the throttle response is instantaneous and requiring a stronger return spring, to limit the sudden revs.
I have managed to fit it under the hood, and retained the A/C compressor, and the look of the original Air Cleaner, but seriously modified the Intake Manifold, Air Cleaner and fuel line.
The biggest task was to gut out the internals of the original cast iron manifold, then mill the base down another 3/16" for more clearance, then totally modify the air cleaner to allow the Air intake for the PCV to operate. The hood closers now, with no height interference.
Retained the original throttle cable, but still working on the Trans Kick-down Switch. The Throttle return spring mounting is a modified '74 or 5 bracket to suit an engine with HEI Ignition.
The next step is to go for an electric fuel pump, and 3/8" lines as these things like fuel when the pedal is to the metal, and the 5/16" original line isn't quite enough. BUT, at the speeds requiring the larger supply is well over the posted speed limits.
Bruce.
