Have you considered going upmarket with a late model Gen III with all the EMS?

One of our country members (Peter Fennell) did an upgrade on a '58 Fleetwood and it's the duck's nuts! Can put you in touch with him if you want to have a chat about it. May have some merit vs. the cost of finding and building up a 390, or other.

I know which way I would go in future.

Mate that would be much appreciated. I definitely want to go that route and I've been wondering about engine mounts and sump clearance and all that stuff. I knew there'd have to be someone that's done it before, but Google hasn't been very helpful.
