Is there anyone in Melbourne who could help me with the car above,
We cannot get the handbrake off which I understand is linked to getting it into gear.

G'day from a dark Lindisfarne.

The parking brake is released manually by a small lever that sits just under the dash, on the left side.

These cars have an automatic park brake release that operates via Vacuum when the engine is running, and the gear lever moved out of Park.

If you look up under the dash, behind and underneath the area of the headlight switch, you will see the lever.   It looks like it is parallel to the bottom of the dash, and only requires fingers to pull it backwards, and the pedal releases.

If you can't find it, I will get a picture of it in the morning.
