Child restraints
« on: November 23, 2006, 03:51:54 PM »
Has anyone fitted child restraint anchor points to the back seat of a '59 Coupe de Ville? Can you recommend someone in Sydney who can do this work?

Thanks,

Ron

G'day Ron,

Fitting the restraints would be a simple task, and the only permanent thing that will be seen is the attaching bolt on the parcel tray.

The lower parts can be fastened in the same way as a normal Lap Seat Belt, in the rear panel directly behind the back of the seat base.

Sorry I can't assist in where to get it done in Sydney, as I am in Tasmania, but it wouldn't be a really tough job for a handy-person.

Plus, there should be fitting instructions included with the Child Seat.

Bruce.

Howdy,
I've put my own in, welded the nut supplied with the belts to a piece of 6 mm plate. If you call the NRMA? in Sydney, or the Red Cross(they hire out baby capsules) they should be able to tell you of a fitter.
